The Empowered Nurturer: Inspiring Today’s Jewish Woman to Live Her Best Life!
What is our purpose?
So often women are the caregivers. They are the nurturers, for their families and their communities. They are the ones making meals for others, visiting the sick, volunteering their time for local chessed organizations, driving to medical appointments, reciting many chapters of Tehillim and so much more, all in addition to their “regular” responsibilities of jobs, cooking, cleaning, hosting, parenting, keeping up with relationships and generally holding everything together.
But are women nurturing themselves? Are they eating well, hydrating enough, exercising, taking care of their mental and spiritual health, doing all their preventative screenings to ensure that they are healthy and strong? Whether they are pregnant, postpartum, peri or post menopausal, women need to be educated and aware of what it means to be truly healthy in all ways.
What about if they are the ones in need? Accepting help can feel uncomfortable or even impossible. Are they able to ask for support without feeling guilty? Can she take the time she needs to fully heal?
Our Torah teaches us, “ונשמרתם מאד את נפשתיכם”, which means, “Be exceedingly careful to take care of yourself”. The goal of this program workshop is to guide, educate, inspire and encourage Jewish women of St Louis to do just that. It will feature a variety of engaging and knowledgeable speakers who will speak about topics including: menopause, pelvic floor, nutrition, yoga, breast health, alternative health, mental health, and stress management for participants to choose from. G-d willing, it will enable and empower them to return to their families and communities restored and whole.
We truly believe that when women are empowered to both receive and give support, entire communities thrive.
